Lincoln Hills Development Corporation (LHDC) has an opening for a full-time Family Support Specialist in the Healthy Families Program. This position is responsible for in-home visitation and education of new parents. The Family Support Specialist will serve families in Gibson, Pike, and Knox Counties. The office for this position is located in the Vincennes area, and the position has the possibility of remote work options once fully trained.
Applicants must have at least a High School Diploma, with a Bachelor’s Degree being preferred. Training is provided, although experience in working with children and families is preferred. Computer skills for documentation and data entry and proficiency in computer systems and functions, including MS Office, Internet, email, and ability to learn computer software are required. Applicants should have knowledge of child growth/development and parent-child relationships and be able to work a flexible schedule. Applicants must also provide their own transportation to home visits and must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to travel both locally and out-of-area as necessary. Travel may require occasional overnight stays. Must meet Healthy Families and Child Welfare Policies regarding federal and state criminal history requirements, sex offender registry checks, Child Protection Services (CPS) checks, and Local Law Enforcement Agency checks.
