Looking for a Social Media Coordinator

Job Purpose

The Social Media Coordinator is responsible for creating, posting, and monitoring social media content for Austin Christian Fellowship (ACF). This individual will work closely with the creative team to develop content that engages users and fosters an interactive relationship between the church and the digital audience. The successful candidate will also be required to collect and review social media data to develop effective digital marketing strategies.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day management of ACF’s primary social media accounts, including Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter
  • Implement and monitor social marketing campaigns
  • Work closely with the MarCom team to protect the ACF brand and ensure branding consistency across all platforms
  • Create original digital content, including graphics, short videos, and photos as well as engaging posts to accompany the visuals
  • Supervise all aspects of social media interaction between the church and the digital audience, including responding to comments and messages in a timely manner and in ACF’s voice
  • Create actionable plans to both grow and maintain followers on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter
  • Track progress on all platforms by using analytical tools, such as Google Analytics and others
  • Develop and adhere to ACF’s social media posting strategy, and customize content according to each platform’s best practices


Skills and Qualifications

  • Passionate about serving Christ and the Church
  • Strong desire to reach and engage digital audiences with spiritual content
  • 3-5 years of social media management experience
  • 1-2 years of Adobe Creative Cloud experience, including Illustrator, Photoshop, Lightroom, and Premiere Pro
  • Bachelor's degree in communications, business, marketing, journalism, public relations, or related field
  • Excellent communication skills – verbal, visual, written, and relational
  • Experience copywriting and strong grammatical knowledge
  • Professional experience using Google Analytics
  • Proficient using multi-social posting programs such as Hootsuite
  • Knowledgeable in Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and internet ranking for web content
  • Relevant experience targeting digital audiences and catering unique marketing campaigns to capture their attention
  • Ability to multi-task and quickly solve problems
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing strategy
  • Ability to simultaneously work on multiple projects/initiatives
  • Aligned with ACF’s mission, vision, and values

Working conditions

  • This role primarily functions in a remote environment with regular Zoom meetings and team calls and occasionally requires onsite work at ACF’s main campus in northwest Austin
  • Applicant will be supplied with Mac laptop and Adobe Creative Cloud
  • Must be available to regularly monitor and interact with ACF’s social media audience online
  • Preferred candidate will engage with ACF’s online weekend services
